Re: Roadford 20th Anniversary event - who's coming?

Unfortunately we will no longer be coming to Roadford. Very disappointed. Several reasons, the main one being that the water level is too low to launch Alan's FF15 so there won't be a boat to sail. Also we are having campervan problems that may not be sorted in time Finally I feel guilty coming anyw...

Re: Roadford 20th Anniversary event - who's coming?

Firming up. We will probably arrive mid or late morning Friday so can prep the FF15. And we will leave by 5pm at latest Monday as I'm racing in Torpoint Monday evening. Cant mention what boat here! Except a singlehander designed just 5 years ago and for some reason named after a chocolate bar Still ...

Re: Roadford 20th Anniversary event - who's coming?

We should be there. No boat though, although Alan kindly said I could sail his FF15 again (I will need a crew though). Does now clash with our club regatta though so maybe no others coming from Torpoint.

We eat lots!

Publicity for Roadford

After getting back from Clywedog I went to my club and several people asked how the cvrda event went. Even though I hadnt said I was going. So obviously more interest than I realised, even from those who sail new designs like RS's etc In our club we have a Jollyboat, Dayboat, ancient IC10 canoe, old...

Re: Clywedog ~Rally 24th - 27th May

If you go back even further you'll see sails with UK on them with the letters merged so RH vertical of U is same as LH vertical of K. Thats why the UK became simply K. And in days of British Empire Canada, Rhodesia etc country codes all started with K eg KRH etc Some will remember the outcry from pr...

Re: Clywedog ~Rally 24th - 27th May

A long way off still, but Jetti and I plan to come with my Skol Moth. One small campervan, we can guarantee no one will have a smaller one! But you will like the colour We will be arriving Sat morning and probably leaving Monday morning. Two questions: Can Jetti bring/use her kayak? It's only a year...

Re: Mast carrying on vans

overhang "aft" is not usually a problem if you fly a red flag. The bow overhang is the problem. It has to be under 1m, and basically as short as possible. Think pedestrian crossings, never mind traffic lights. Also consider kayaks and rowing skiffs that are routinely carried on car roofs M...

That's very generous of you, thank you. Maybe you can email me at woodsdesigns@gmail.con so we can discuss it further (I use a smart phone a lot right now so its easier to read emails than PMs on forums)

Re: Jack Holt Ideal Dinghy

You may have already seen this on the boatdesign.net forums (from 2006) "I recently bought a book “Build and sail your own boat” by Norman Dahl, which is really about the building of Jack Holt’s “Ideal” dinghy, a 12’ 3” general purpose pram, used in the Ulster TV series of the same name in the ...

Poole AB 60th anniversary regatta

Not a CVRDA event, but I hope its still acceptable to post here: One of the events I have been looking forward to all year is the Poole AB 60th anniversary regatta to be held at Parkstone YC on September 8th. The Poole AB has always been a great small teaching/racing dinghy for children and is activ...
