Balcotan + Epoxy = ??
Hi everyone, Still plodding along with the repair to the inside bottom of my ent. Having filled the hole (about 5x5cm) with epoxy and microfibres, I am ready to glue and screw back the support onto the top of this. My question is can I use Balcotan to glue the marine ply support to the epoxy filled ...

Re: Wanted - thin strip of mahogany
Hi Jools, I have attached a photo of the part of the Ent that I am replacing. It is a support that is screwed to the floor (from the outside). I will actually need two of these strips, as upon further inspection the first one also has a crack and needs replacing. I have some excess 11mm marine ply t...

Wanted - thin strip of mahogany
Hi Everyone,
Wondering if anyone might have a thin strip of mahogany hanging around that they would like to get rid of. I need a piece 22mm x 22mm x 350mm to repair my Ent, and am willing to pay if someone has something suitable.
Thanks in advance,
Craig

Re: Rotten frame on Ent - Help!
Thanks for your reply, Roger. I have been doing a bit more reading through the archives about G4, and think I will go with that followed by varnish. I imagine it would be better to fill with epoxy then G4 over the top, or am I wrong? The frame was marine ply, which was probably asking for trouble, a...

Re: Rotten frame on Ent - Help!
Hi Everyone,
Here is a photo of the floor after frame has been removed. Any advice appreciated
as to what to do to the floor! I have scraped away all soft wood and what remains
seems sound.

Craig

Rotten frame on Ent - Help!
Hi Everyone, I have just started a back to bare wood redo of the interior of my old ent, and have found considerable rot in the frame part towards the rear of the centreboard case which extends to the side of the hull (not sure what this is called). My question is how is this generally secured to th...
