Early GRP Topper

An elderly neighbour died recently, and I am helping his family dispose of his boats. One of these is a GRP Topper, which I believe may be quite a rare survivor of these early boats. I don't know the age, but I imagine it falls within the scope of the CVRDA. I haven't carried out a detailed inspecti...

Re: An Olympia-Jolle in the UK

i would be interested to see some pictures. Depending on it's history, I might be able to help find it a home.

Re: Flying Fish????

I think that it is just possible that this is a very early National 12. My copy of Sail and Power, by Uffa Fox, published in 1936 has a chapter on the then new National 12 restricted class. Yachting World published outline plans for the Uffa King design in their March 6 1936 edition, and sold full-s...

Re: Roll up, roll up, buy an entire museum collection

I am totally confused now: suddenly a lot of new boats, some of them of historical importance, are listed for the first time at a very late stage in the auction. The question remains: "Are there going to be enough people interested in these boats to give them all a good home?" I hope that ...

Re: Roll up, roll up, buy an entire museum collection

Thank you, that would really be extremely helpful. If you could possibly shed any light on which "Imp" is for sale, and the identity of the mystery boat in the upper photograph, that would be great too!

Re: Roll up, roll up, buy an entire museum collection

Unfortunately I am unable to go to Lowestoft for the viewing tomorrow, and if anyone is able to attend I would be very grateful if they would have a look at Zeus, K500 and Encore, K847. I am also interested in Fleur de Lys, K715 and Buttock Up K780. There seems to be some confusion over "Imp&qu...

Re: Roll up, roll up, buy an entire museum collection

I don't view myself as the ideal guardian for a vintage International 14, as I'm rather too old, but I would hate to see any lost. Having at one time owned a wooden national 18 for twenty years I understand the maintenance issues that come with an old wooden boat, and taking on an Uffa Fox 14 would ...
