[quote="davidh"]Pierre - Hope you are still on here! Do you have access to any pictures of the Spectrum that used to sail at WWSC? If not, do you have contact details for the guy (your sailing sec?) who used to sail it - most people have a pictures somewhere of their boat. Cheers Dougal[/q...

Hope you are fixed up now, and the life situation improved.
Get that Osprey finished. I'm dying to see it on the water.

Re: Round the Island Race.. Dinghies 6th June 1953.

Hi David I just thought it an interesting read, (and have no particular axe to grind as to the boat despite being an Osprey sailor); and surprised at how close the finish was. Sounds like Proctor was wise to have 3 aboard. The following page on the site is a piece on the La Baule two hander trials t...

Round the Island Race.. Dinghies 6th June 1953.

I thought this article gleaned from the Osprey website would be of interest to you all. Nail biting stuff in places, written originally for the Yachting World Annual 1954. A very close race indeed. http://www.ospreysailing.org/cms/index.php/events/past-events/223-round-the-island-race-for-dinghies-j...

Re: de-bodging an Osprey centreboard case - advice req'd

I am loving all this stuff you are doing on the Ospreys you have.
First off thanks for the account of it all with pictures.
Second... That is going to be one solid stiff boat by the time you've finished.
Marvellous stuff.
Looking forward to seeing the finished floating item.
Carry on :D

Re: Osprey history

You might want to have a bit of a rummage round here.

I thought the Osprey always had the trapeze and spinnaker, but can't swear to it.

Re: Two Wooden Tideways available plus......

Rupert
Just got the list from the club powers that be. I will have to go down and root around to see how horrible some of these are, but evidently there is a Minisail, 3 Lightnings, and even a Europe.
I shall see what's what.

Two Wooden Tideways available plus......

Weir Wood Sailing Club are purging the boat park. There are two wooden Tideways there, which if anyone is interested, I will get pictures of. They are not in the first flush of youth and would require work, but I know some of you like a challenge judging by the forum posts I have read over the years...

Re: Mirror Mirror, on the wall - who is the fairest of them

Pierre, You certainly have 'grabbed' my attention! I don't suppose you took/kept any pictures? I have to say that I am amazed at the interest that i've had to my Nevil Shute presentation (I'm doing it again at hayling in a fortnights time) - okay, the main audiences are sailing clubs and the like (...
