Wildcat Dinghy

Hi Everyone,
Back in about the mid fifties my father (grew up in Essex) built a Wildcat. Other than a paragraph in a Dinghy Yearbook I know nothing about the boat. Does anyone have any pictures?

Wildcat Dinghy

Hi Everyone,
My father who grew up in Essex built a Wildcat in the fifties. Does anyone have any pictures or info on the boat? We've got a few old Dinghy Yearbooks which have a short paragraph, but no pictures. I'll try to scan the pics he took during the build.

Really Cheap Flying Fifteens

I've seen a few ff's going for a couple hundred pounds recently...how come no one near me has one to sell for next to nothing!?!?

Maybe I should move to England...

Re: Restoring my Jollyboat

My father (in his 81 st year and owner of Albacore 2700 since 1972) and I had a discussion about this sunday afternoon and agreed that I should keep the overhang. If for nothing else the boat would look way too skinny without them (probably why Uffa created them in the first place...) I'm going to t...

Restoring my Jollyboat

I'm taking off my decks for replacement and wondering how blasphemus it would be to get rid of the 2-3 inch extension (or breakwater) and just have the decks flush with the hull (with a rubbing board). It would save work and weight. I won't be racing so there's no problem with measurement rules. Tha...

12 Metre Sharpie

Hi Everyone, My father (in his 81st year) just called and recounted a story of an encounter during a race in Burnham of a capsized 12 Metre Sharpie whom he helped out (while abandoning the race at the same time). He thought it might make a nice half model and asked if I could find the lines anywhere...

Re: Shearwater for sale

Can you look into it? I would have no idea even where to start.
From wherever you are to Montreal, Canada. If you could get it here for $1000 Canadian (boat included...) it will get a nice new home on a lake north of Montreal.

Re: Shearwater for sale

I would love to take it off your hands (my father sailed a Shearwater in Burnham in the early sixties and brought it to Canada). But it would probably be way too expensive to ship it to Montreal.

Jollyboat stemhead/forestay fitting

Could someone post or email me a picture of a correct Jollyboat stemhead/forestay fitting? Mine isn't correct and a friend with a metal shop offered to make me one if I can give him the specs.

Thanks,
Scott Robinson

Re: Paint & Flaps

Sorry, nothing to do with your topic. I was looking at your pictures and wondering why you installed the supports/braces on the floors?

Thanks,Ed. I asked you the same question in a pm last week, but I guess you never got it. I figured it must have something to do with the reefing gear. Would anybody have a picture of the set-up so I can see if I have any of the bits in the box that came with the boat?

Thanks,
Scott

Al, You and I are (literally) in the same boat. Look down in the forum to the post "just bought a jollyboat". I just rescued J197 from a date with the scrapheap (as I said a few more Montreal winters uncovered as she was and she would be gone). As you've got a few other boats and I've got ...

Dating my Jollyboat

Ed,
Which parts of the boat would you like pictures of to help date my hull? And its shell #183, not 185.
