The old 35mm film containers work fine on small ammounts because they are vertically sided and you can scratch a scale on the outside to get your proportions right. Used to be on the poisons register and you had to go through a right old rigmarole to obtain it. Now just go to E-bay and they offer loads in powder form. Fine if you want to inherit early. Lemon juice I used the Jif version on gelcoat and gloss paint to good effect. White vinegar is said to work to...

Oxalic acid is good for rust too. But because of its on the poisons register I have used lemon juice including Jif and white vinegar. So it depends if you prefer pancakes to chips. But thanks for your help.
