Sorry to not reply sooner.

They have decided to go with the Brightlingsea One Design after all, and we have found a set of mock cotton sails for that (even sail number 1!)

Many thanks for all the help and advice though, it is much appreciated.

There's a few problems arising with the BOD, (when I thought I had it sorted!)...

Anyone know of anyone with white cotton sails that would fit this boat??

Mainsail is 18ft by 8ft
Jib sail is 5ft 4'' by 12ft

The sails would be for either a Brightlingsea One Design, don't know the size of the sails yet but it's an 18' boat with a 30' mast.

Other alternative is a 14' clinker (bermuda rigged).

So, looks like we have found a couple of potential boats (thanks, guys!) but sails are proving to be a problem.

Anyone know any sailmakers that could make up some cotton sails for us?

Thanks for the tip off, I may go there anyway, but we need the boat before then!

Just an additional note - a lot of these boats are ideal and I'll make some enquiries and show them to the designer later...but as much as possible I'm hoping to stick to the South / South West, due to the amount of travel involved.

Thanks to you all for the help so far... Michael - will keep Blue Moon in mind, but try and find something that needs a little less work first... Chris / Garry - Iska is beautiful but would ideally like something a bit more open to allow a bit more movement...plus could prove costly for our insuranc...
