Hello all, Long time no see. I am putting my National 12 up for sale. I have owned this boat for 10 years or so and in that time I have loved sailing her. I had a similar thing with my N12 sparkle. Unfortunately I was forced to re-deck the for-deck, which also mean new gunnels, etc.

The comes a point when I could not bear to look at it. I think the wood finally calls time on being bent and twisted. mine was the original deck from 1967.

You are right to be concerned, as it will sit higher in the water and be more likely to turtle, which will make recovery all the more difficult. Reminds me of a Heron, except for the low boom, and the fact that a Heron is 11' 3" if I recall. Cadet fleet was probably too well established for the boat to threaten...... As an ex 'Cadet parent' I used to take a lot of prospective crews and sail in a Heron within the Cadet fleet at my old cl...
