Wooden mast & Boom from Seafly
Following the sad demise of an old Seafly we have both metal and wooden spars for disposal. Currently dry stored. (also boat cover with some life in it plus various fittings). In Essex but transport possible

Re: Simoun
Having stumbled on a very old thread, we have a Simoun 485 for disposal at our club. All there except for the sails but would like a token bit of cash for the road trailer.
Any interest?
Some nutcase on e-bay wants to convert it into an electric launch! Oh, how we laughed!

Save a Seafly
Save a Seafly! We have one of these increasingly rare old boats at our club (no 231). Owner deceased. Boat desperately needs saving. Its all there with sails and spinnaker equipment & a good cover. Bad news is the floor is gone in places and other tails of woe. Is it viable? I hate to scrap a bo...

Wayfarer hatches (grp)
An unusual request but we have an old grp Wayfarer at the club (abandoned) and most bits are missing. Notably the grp hatches, front and rear are absent, meaning we either find some, fabricate wooden replacements or condemn the boat as a write off. Our only chance of getting the proper things is is ...

Re: Vintage Merlin
I now have a vintage Merlin that I would really like to move on as I have too many jobs/projects lined up. I've advertised it on Apollo Duck at £100 but that is really just to discourage the boat breaking fraternity. She has a couple of locally sprung joints but otherwise could go sailing. Space nee...

Re: Fitting New Gunwhale for GRP Heron
I just did a similar repair to a grp Gull. The D-section timber used countersunk bolts with the nut sitting behind an overhanging gunwale flange. The wingnuts referred to are just that; Holt-Allen self-tapping wingnuts, available in at least two sizes. A lot of grp GP14s used them to secure their wo...

Re: Seafire 42 Restoration
Like buses, two come along at once. I've just been given a Seafly (no 231). The owner recently passed away and the family needed rid of it but sadly it does need a lot of work as the damp has got into a couple of places. At least all the gear comes with it including the original wooden spars as well...

Wayfarer centreboard
I don't suppose anyone has an old Wayfarer centreboard gathering dust? We've had a breakage with one of our club boats-a plywood board which are not the best thing. Thanks

Re: I hope they don't have "high hopes."
They seem to move in between Wednesday and the weekend, at least they do at our club!
Any harm?
Dont know but we have a problem with boring insects in our club Seafly. One small section is reduced to dust. Will investigate later.

Classic Merlins at Fishers Green SC
Saturday 12th May is the day of the Classic/Vintage De-May event for Merlins. Anything wooden up to about 3350 sail number. We hope to have all of our club "heritage fleet" on the water and pray for the good conditions we have enjoyed the last couple of years. Everyone with an old Merlin i...

Re: Xmas greetings and next projects
As one project ends, another one begins and the Essex Sanctuary for Sick Merlins remains always busy. I’ve had 3314 Passion in the shed to tackle some decay in the floor that had taken hold behind the front bulkhead. Merlins of that age only had a hatch on one side of the bow tank and water had gain...

Old style gooseneck please
Of all the vast collection of bits I own, I am stuck for an old style gooseneck pin with the square section spigot.
So many old booms seem to require this design to fit the square socket and all I have are round section.
Can anyone help out?
Thanks
Godfrey

Wooden Fireball for spares
We have a 10,000 registration fireball with much of its foredeck missing that needs to be disposed of eventually. Not economically worth repairing very sadly, as the tiger-stripe ply alone would be over £100 at todays prices. Could be taken as a going concern or would break for parts. Trolley, cover...
