Re: Seeking Sunfish

Well, this is getting interesting. Rare as hen's teeth but suddenly we have two ancient sunfish on e bay at once. Hopefully someone out there with a later glass one will be inspired to try their luck as well.

Re: Leader dinghy

Thanks for your comments. Just what I was hoping to hear. Now I just need to find one. Preferably a later all glass fibre one.

Re: Seeking Sunfish

Wow! That is nice. But not for me. I can't imagine leaving that anywhere except in a nice warm museum. Intrigued by the Sunfish / Sailfish confusion. Clearly a Sunfish hull but with a Jeckels sail. Definitely not an Alcourt Sailfish sail though. That was something completely different. Was there a t...

Re: Leader dinghy

Yes, very nice for such an old boat but I am much more inclined toward fibreglass for this one.

Leader dinghy

Thinking about buying an easy to sail 14ft dinghy for club racing and occasional use at the seaside. The obvious choice is the GP14 but I have never really liked them so started thinking about alternatives. I would like something with a spinnaker so that excludes the Enterprise. The Wanderer is rath...

Re: Seeking Sunfish

Yes Michael, a real bargain for someone but I am really looking for something a little older and a lot cheaper. Something I can leave on beach without worrying about it.

Seeking Sunfish

Reputedly the world's most numerous dinghy but in Britain as rare as hen's teeth. Any ideas where I might find one?

Re: Merlin Rocket Wanted

I was in your position last year. NSM 2s proved very difficult to find and the Smokers, whilst numerous in their day, were few and far between in anything like good order. In the end I settled for a Rowsell / Omega NSM1. I paid £500 for mine and had it on the water for little more. Not pristine but ...

Changing sail numbers

Can anyone advise me of the best way to remove the old glue residue from secondhand sails when changing the sail numbers?
