Re: 2018 events
Hykeham up date. Due to pressure on the calendar with open days, interclub events etc The committee have offered us June 23/24. I know this is a bit close to the Aldeburgh dates. What does anyone else think? They want to go to press with the club calendar quite soon so views sought

Re: Merlin 1028
Thanks for that Pat. I wondered about bags but I have got some really nice decking ply which will be sympathetic to the rest of the boat and it would be a shame to cut two big holes in it! I am afraid that sails are going to be pretty much what is available second hand. The ravages of mice and poor ...

Merlin 1028
Having identified the Merlin, got it in the workshop and pulled apart it's time to think about where I am going with it. I should be in a position to redeck later this week with a bit of luck . I have put in a half height bow tank mainly because the bow bag was a wreck and I had plenty of big offcut...

That looks very like a Twinkle 12 that has been modified.

Re: Merlin Rocket 1028
Cor, This certainly knocks "We have no record" (RYA) into a cocked hat. I have sailed against 1066 a couple of times and will be quite pleased if I can get "Arthur/Crossbow" out in as nice condition I picked the boat up from Banbury last Sunday but I am led to believe it had been sailed on the Thame...

Re: Merlin Rocket 1028
Thanks for that Ian. It is in remarkable condition all things considered and has been in dry storage for about 10 years. I hope to have it done for next year when ,with any luck, I should be out and about again

Merlin Rocket 1028
Start worrying people I have been given the vast majority of Merlin Rocket 1028 .Now its not often I admit to not knowing stuff but I have no idea about Merlins. Apart from the RYA is there a source where I could find out who built it and confirm my assumption that it is a Proctor 1X ? In the past t...

Re: Roll up, roll up, buy an entire museum collection
Has the RYA shown any interest in this? They do, after all, represent our sport. Surely this is worth their effort.
