Re: What is this sail from?

If the sail can be got to Oulton, then I will be more than happy to deliver to St Ives, it is only an hour away from home. This maybe easier, than Pat interupting the mad dash over to Clwedog, to deliver a sail!!

Re: Handicap tweaks

I am not in a position to offer you a post, as I only have an honorary position on the committee myself but if you want to do something.....why not offer your services? Rupert has just said he wants to step down as publicity sec or PR officer or whatever.....and I don't think there is a Social Sec ...

Re: Handicap tweaks

Maybe because it applies to both threads, and that it would seem, that there is a severe case of short sightedness at times!!

Re: Am I a sinner?

Roger the answer is of course no just signing on and then demanding the established venue for the nationals be moved to WOBYC from Clwedog is just irrational and smacks of hostile take over, I am not sure that was actually said by the way. AG This is not what I said. Jon suggested we move our tradi...

Re: Am I a sinner?

But all we get is "That is just the eastern mafia" let's ignore them!! I really do not want to continue this discusion on a public forum, it will not be good for the CVRDA. Please contact me by E:Mail, or PM..

Re: Handicap tweaks

I take your points (And we do have bigger Willies on the East Coast!!!) We just need to modernise slightly (If that is not an anachronisim (Not in the dictoniary - probably spelt wrong!)). And we need to sort the handicap issue out. If you are saying that we have less visitors from Europe, surely th...

Re: Am I a sinner?

Ed, I would happily explain it all at the AGM, but I will be busy recovering from Oulton Week.... We can not alter the date of Oulton Week, so if you want people from the East, to communicate at the the AGM you need to alter the dates. Or all comments will be on a public forum, or do we only want pe...

Re: Am I a sinner?

Just to put my two penneth in, at the risk of upsetting the old school... Racing Dinghies were designed to be raced hard, and at the extreme of the rules. I remember seeing assymetrical Enterprises in the late 80's, early 90's, just to ensure they left the start line on starboard tack quicker than o...

Re: Merlin Rocket 3055

A great boat, the Smokers design, possibly, is one of the best all round designs ever!!!

It will sail fast on rivers, lakes, estuarys and sea. A great find, care for and love her, she will reward you.

Any help or advice you need can be gained either on here or on the Merlin Rocket forum..

Re: Handicap tweaks

I meant to add surely the handicaps to be sailed to need to be declared in the Notice Of Race. This opens up further loop holes, if we are going to adjust as the week progresses (Not sure we are allowed to!). Surely there needs to be a definitive list before the event is announced, listing handicaps...

Re: Handicap tweaks

Just to advise, that for Oulton Week, our computer system can not handle two and three figure handicaps. We are looking at converting all CVRDA handicaps to three and four figure numbers, however, with all the variables this may be impracticle. If so it makes the scorers job even more onerous, as it...

Re: Handicap tweaks

Please can I just remind you that I said at the outset that I did not want to start a contentious string. What I asked for was clarification on what is a serious issue that I couldn't asnwer for myself as I could not find the answer on the site. I have NOT said that the answer I had was wrong, nor ...
