update time !, found some time this weekend to crack-on with paint removal, the outside of the hull is fully stripped back to bare wood now. The wood is all in good shape with one historic hole in the floor that has been patched before this needs tidying up a bit, a few small areas of the glass tape...

Interesting, I live and sail only a few miles from Cirencester and have never heard of them, I will ask about at our sailing club and if I turn anything up will report back.

what about using thickened epoxy with a bit of ply stuck on the back (inside) if its a short term repair and small hole.

^^^ spot on I recon !, been out and pondered over the rudder . The slot is about 15mm wide and 65mm long on the top, it then tapers out to to the bottom of the slot, overall depth of slot 45mm. could have a hole in the side where a pin goes through ?. . J
