Re: Xmas Advent Calendar- Guess the Boat
The Mothball thing did occur to me but she's possibly cut off a bit short. I saw the original article when it came up on the forum before. Re: Xmas Advent Calendar- Guess the Boat
Sorry to keep you waiting. A fibreglass dinghy with a wooden deck, that in 1974 she had a rating faster than a Hornet (87) and slower than a 505 (81) but she is only 8 feet long (2.4 m)? I've two of these. No guesses from anyone?

Re: Boat transportation
Ruperts right Max, ask if anyone's nearby who'd have a look for you. I've certainly viewed boats before for others down here in the remote south west, notably the boat that purported to be National 12 no.1 but actually proved to be closer to 14 feet long!

Re: Xmas Advent Calendar- Guess the Boat
Max (et al) We can do better than that, you don't have to wait until next xmas for another confusing conundrum. I have another racing dinghy (of the sailing variety). She's glass with a wood deck. In 1974 she had a rating faster than a Hornet (87) and slower than a 505 (81) but she is only 8 feet lo...

Re: Xmas Advent Calendar- Guess the Boat
And the answer is? Not a Flying Fifteen, National 18, 505, Firefly, Salcombe Yawl, Chichester Harbour OD, Moth or a Sailability boat (thanks Nessa, not quite but almost ready for one!). Loved the Peter Milne 'Virago' suggestion, worth researching if you have a moment, perhaps there's a survivor out ...
