Re: Looking for a trailer that would fit a TOY

That could save us both about 300 miles, the main problem is that the TOY doesn't have a trailer. I'm sure that we could find somewhere suitable about half way making it a practical one day trip as I was looking at a stop over. The TOY is at Blackwater sc which the owner tells me is near Maldon in E...

Is this the Welsh variant of the Finn?

Saw this on the bay, two sets of rowlocks and a dagger board case but described as a Finn! Must be an early prototype version what else could it be?

Wot's this then?

We haven't had one for ages so what is it, perhaps that should be what was it?

Re: Looking for a single hander

[quote="chris"]There was a TOY advertised on the notice board at Roadford earlier - don't know if it sold.

Anyone who frequents Roadford know if it is still for sale?

Re: Looking for a single hander

Looe only do class racing, Redwings, Enterprises, L*sers and Mirrors, I am gradually moving towards keel boats but fancy something to handicap race somewhere else, I did think about single handing a Mirror but I don't think it is really for me. A Toy, I hadn't given them a thought, I've never sailed...

Looking for a single hander

Hi all, having moved house to Cornwall and sold all my boats before the move I am now looking for a CVRDA eligible single hander. I could find another Solo but having had five of those over the years and the fact that I will be only casual handicap racing I thought I would see what else is about. It...

Re: Int Moth (Imperium scow) mast wanted

I have had a Scow Needlespar and a Solo Needlespar and the difference in weight due to wall thickness was quite considerable, the Solo mast is also much stiffer. I have a Solo Needlespar in the garage which is surplus to my requirements but as I live in Cornwall it probably too far to collect.

Re: Luff groove (this time alloy mast!)

I use Mclube sailcote, available on the bay or your local chandlers, seemed expensive when I bought it but it works very well and three years on I am still using my first can. A quick spray on the sail luff rope and perhaps the mast luff groove and everything slides beautifully.

Re: who fancies a game of What's This?

I have the plastic version of the kicker drum, axle and bracket in working order, free to a good home, if you want it. It doesn't have the ratchet function though so you would have to use a cleat somewhere. PM me an email address and I'll send you a picture as I have never managed to get a picture o...

I've got various bits of bailer but not sure which model they are, if you can give me a size of the flap I will see if I have got one.

Re: Trailer bearings maintenance

Without examining the bearings my initial thoughts are that they are too tight, I was taught with roller bearings, that I guess you are working with here, that there should be slight movement which can be felt when you rock the top and bottom of the wheel when it is off the ground. Not slop just dis...
