Re: Clywedog 9-10th July

Just seen Nessa's post, I didn't realise the Clywedog and Roadford meetings were on consequetive weekends.

It would be too much driving to go to both, Nessa and I live near or on the east cost so a bit of a marathon to either.

It will have to be Roadford as this is the main event.

Re: Single Hander

Hi Alan, thought that might be the case.

I've just bought John's old Finn K123, but thanks for letting me know about the one at Roadford.

I will probably need an Ali mast and sail though as this one still has the original wooden mast which looks like it needs a bit of tlc.

Cheers,

Re: Clywedog 9-10th July

Hi Keith,

I have planned to come, barring anything unforeseen.....

Not sure what boat to bring, hoping I can get the Jollyboat ready but it's outside and this damn rain won't stop!

I need to varnish the decks and paint the floor.....

Re: Old International 14 Dinghy

Hi Rupert, I have a Kirby 7 in grp, very well built and still good. The sail number is K1120 I think from around 1980. It has a single trapeze but I know some were modified for twin trapeze and asymmetric kites. There must be a lot of penultimate grp 14's around. They frequently come up for not much...

Re: Vintage 14 for sale

Hi Robert, really sorry to hear that you are parting company with Lancing... If I had space I would happily make you an offer but at the moment I have another vintage 14 in the garage waiting to be repaired. We have had a great time with Maelstrom, admired wherever we take her, thank you for that......

Re: Old Proctor mast 'rivets'

Don't forget... If you are using big aluminium rivets, Monel or stainless steel, you will need a man size riveter, probably the lazy tongs variety, otherwise you won't be able to set the rivets, unless you know two friendly gorillas who can work a pliers type riveter for you :?

Re: Single Hander

Hi Dean, the Faireys and the penultimates are I think are 212 to 220lbs, about 100kilo.

That's the hull weight, so maybe 120 to 130kilo all up.

Thinking of buying one?

Re: Single Hander

Thanks to everyone for your advice and suggestions. I think that I'll probably rig up the firefly for Staunton Harold unless anyone volunteers to crew for me before that? Tony, perhaps you could pm me about your Finn? There are also a couple of others around I know, Peter V? Dean, hopefully see you ...

Re: More info needed on (Anglo Marine) Adventurer

Hi Dean, the Adventurer was made near me in Clacton by the same company as made the Wanderer so probable an OK boat......

How are you fixed for sailing this year? Be good if we could sail together again...
