Re: Man O'War for the uk market?

Man of War here http://sailboatdata.com/viewrecord.asp?class_id=4861 IIRC correctly Macalpine Downie never got any royalties for the Chrysler designs and he did quite a few in the 1960's Wasn't there a singlehanded trapeze dinghy called Rebel?, early 80's, with unstayed mast with that insignia?? Ric...

Re: Roadford Who’s Coming

surely better to hope for wind rather than burgers?? Still a long way away, but right now looks like more of the same. Heat, sun, calm I can pick up the rudder and deliver it next time I'm in Plymouth, assuming its not immediately required. (had I got the rudder on board last Thurs I could have drop...

Re: Moth merry-go-round

Michael lives about 10 miles from me as I write this, but on Whidbey Island, so a ferry ride away. I am currently living on my boat in Port Townsend in pouring rain. PT is the wood boat centre for the west coast, if not USA, but apart from a couple of 505s and one off Beiker designs I haven't seen a...

Re: Moth merry-go-round

I never go to the bottom of the yearbook error either. It is feasible that there were two JR Woods' Moth sailing back then. I also had an Enterprise, number 9626, a college friend was Richard Wood who owned 9625 which certainly would have confused many secretaries. Yes Rupert you are right, I did go...

Re: Moth merry-go-round

My first post, and just for the record I was the Moth owner from Coventry in 1971/72 named JR Woods. However somehow the original member listing was wrong (I do recall complaining at the time) so although I did own an Imperium scow that wasn't until 76/77. In 71/72 I had a home built Mistral (3153)....
