Re: Down to one boat... each... plus a spare

I've never actually seen a Leader in real life but from what's been said here they seem to tick a lot of boxes :)

Re: Early Heron

Odd then that he should claim she's in good condition in the Fleabay ad then. Although that trailer looks like it could cause problems. Wooden boats like that are designed to take most of the weight on the keel. And it looks like he withdrew her from sale. He might have got an offer to deal outside ...

Re: Foamcrest on eBay

There's been a few of them on Ebay over the last months. Some at (IMHO) silly prices. That one might make a nice cheap little cruising dinghy.

I don't know. Perhaps he enjoys restoring boats more than sailing them? I must say she does look in good nick.

In photo 3 I can see the boat's centreboard and the top of the case where I'd expect it to be. It is a bit worrying though!

Might make a good little fleet of club boats.

Re: Sail cloth

4oz or 5oz? I've got both.

EDIT: should also add white insignia cloth which might repair a small hole without the need of sewing.

Re: It's not an Enterprise... but what is it??

The thing is with an Osprey is that unlike say a GP14 there isn't much of a frame to re-skin so since the hull is in such poor condition you're basically building a new boat. So a thumbs down from me I'm afraid :(

Re: 1973 Merlin Rocket

I never liked those plastic rudder-retaining clips. A piece of shock-cord over the tiller and made fast to the transom knee used to work really well for me but I used to use a fixed rudder on my Merlin.

Re: ENTERPRISE No.878 emerges blinking into the light

I raced Ospreys for over 20 years so I feel I have some knowledge of the class. Possibly a bit biased towards them too :D She's obviously a long-term project but I'll l;eave you with this thought to perhaps whet your appetite:Tthe class rules allow a crew of three. Strictly speaking only one of thes...

Re: centreboard case recoat

I used to be able to get my Osprey on and off its trolley by myself. Putting on its side was easy enough with the mast on but I think you might need a helper otherwise.
