Boat trailer
Now on Ebay so you missed the chance of getting it free! I will be moving house soon and I have in the garden a boat trailer that I towed a Finn 150 miles on without problem. The good points are it seems to be structurally sound, the wheels hold air for at least long enough to get you home with time...

Re: Main sheet on circa 1950s/60s GP14
I'm guessing that you have all you need, the eye on the mainsheet is attached to one of the transom fittings, the sheet then goes up to the block on the end of the boom, down through the other block which is attached to the other fitting on the transom and then on to the helmsman's hand. Mirrors do ...

Re: glues for cold moulding
I use the west system plunger measurers, and being a slow worker use the slow formula which I find gives plenty of time to make numerous joints and set them up before the epoxy has started to set. That way I find I have very little waste, can easily mix the correct ratios but it does add to the init...

Re: Spider...removing the cobwebs! N12 2523
I used to crew a National 12 of this era, that had non adjustable levers. I think they were only there so you could slacken the leeward shroud down wind to give the mainsail a better shape and not be deflected by the shroud. If I remember correctly they were set by screws and a heavy weather gybe ca...

Re: Brass mast step plate?
I have some off cut bits of aluminium sheet in the garage, 3mm thick (I think without going to measure it) how big a bit do you need? If you can give us some better idea of what you are trying to do we may be able to offer a better solution, I might even have a mast foot fitting in my junk shop ( ga...

Re: My new Moff
I can't answer 1, 2 or 3 but; 4, The hull number can sometimes be found on the port side, outside of the hull near the transom, covered in numerous coats of paint, that is were it should be so good luck! 5, Prodders have been discussed before have a look at this posting http://www.cvrda.org/communit...

Re: Knee protection
Just an update, I have found that 'Spinlock' knee pads stay put and provide enough padding to protect my ageing knees. At last knee pads that don't end up as shin pads! Not the cheapest or the dearest but easily the best I have found.

Classic Butler Finn for sale
1967 GRP Butler hull number 253 with new control cleats jammers set up in modern arrangement, Needlespar mast, plus one Needlespar for spares as it has a crack at one of the joints but has a perfect track which I was going to put on the other mast. Good condition galvanised combi trailer, I'd guess ...
Re: quiz time
Q4 his theme was witchcraft as in sorcery etc. Presumably he was following that theme or maybe like me in my racing days when he found himself at the front he had no idea where the next mark was! Is that worth a half of shandy? I think you are onto something, 675 was called 'Witchway', (Google told...
