Re: sounds like a vintage 14

I believe that Wyche & Coppock built a clinker I14 or few and that this was relaunched as the Rocket in 1950 which subsequently merged with Merlins. There is mention of this on the GBR I14 website. Re: Seagull outboard 'new' and unused and mirror kit

Hi again The seagull is a Forty Featherweight short shaft, made in January 1975. These produce an optimistic 1-2 hp, but bear in mind that this is real hp, and was derived from the torque output 45 ft-lbs measured at the output shaft (not engine power). They pull well for their size, easy to handle ...

Re: A Classic Sunfish

Everything (probably more) you want to know about the sunfish; first grp in 1960, wood phased out then but still available as a kit until late 60's

Re: Fly 2 singlehander

The majority were at LASC, maybe 25 or so. The 'nationals' were more 'locals' so to speak. I'm not sure where the rest were, maybe some at Broxbourne.

I learned to sail at Lee Avon sc which was run by Ken Ford. He was an amazing man who ran the club for youngsters from 8-16yrs or so. We started by crewing british moths helmed by older members and moved on to a fly when ready. During the winter we would build boats at a workshop just off Lea Bridge...
