Re: Lymington Pram
If you want a serious project and I mean very serious I know of a Lymington pram (14ft) that the owner would dearly love to see in good hands. Alas I think she is beyond repair but if you want to look I can put you in touch.

Re: Lymington Pram
I am not sure this is a Lymington pram as they are longer than this and not gunter rigged. My guess is its one of the Scows from around the Solent, Gunter rigged and 11ft long.
Claridge of Lymington still makes them both in plastic.

Re: Boat race bilge pumps
I asked a question on the Y&Y forum a couple of days ago, why don't they have similar self bailers as we have in dinghies, a couple of high volume ones at the stern would surely weigh less and shift enough water to remain afloat? After all its surprising how much water is shifted in a short time...

Re: GP14s in Barbados
Nick and Ellie broke a mainsheet in the first race and lost about 20 places in the first race. This left Hugh and Malcolm to take the first honours in the family.
No doubt Nick and Ellie will be back on form today.

Re: Int Moth K3222 Project
I didn't say that I had dumped ALL of the pictures! (I could be tempted!) Thanks Rupert, Its very satisfying to know. There is a strong tradition in the Moth fleet of not quite finishing the boat in time and still be fixing things on the way out to the start. Quite a few fell apart again soon after...

I always think of Bob Corfield when I see a Mercury. He was a good sailor but unbeatable in the Mercury.

Re: flaps or self bailers - your opinions please..
A short term solution for leaky self bailers is to smear a little silicone sealant around the joins from underneath. It stops the leaks when you don't need them and is easy to push away when you need to open them. I say short term but I think I used this method for a number of years. Far cheaper and...

Another way to achieve a non slip finish in varnish is to sprinkle a little granulated sugar on the sticky varnish and then wash away when the varnish has dried.

Re: My old Hornet - Rev. Dr. Syn
Simon, I have asked some questions(on facebook page)and got some info but she is not on our current list of boats. However they do appear on ebay occasionally. We are currently starting up a classic fleet which we hope will bring some of the older boats out of the sheds to come and sail. Here is the...
