mmmmmmm.....I have asked brokers about this....

all the people I have asked have suggested that they consider any boat over 30 years old to be an extra risk and did not really want to cover these.

cheers

It all depends on your boat.....nothing else much matters.....just the class: I rang around tons trying to get decent insurance for my 1949 Int 14. Many would not quote because of age.....nothing pre-1965. Others would quote but demanded a survey from an independant surveyor/boat builder. Normally c...

I think that the main problem for most people is that they don't have any Web space on which to put the images in the first place. I am not sure if there is any way around this.....I know there are some simple scripts that allow you to upload to a Web folder.....but I am not sure if we want to do th...

Oh Lord! It's much worse than that.....it looks like they have removed woodseal as well....which does not surprise me really....as they are so similar products, one being an undercoat version of the other. This is really bad news! There is not even any real point in buying some tins in for prosterit...

I think I am right in saying that you 'could' cover single-pack poly with two-pack poly.... but why bother....two-pack is a pain to apply....and even more of a pain to remove....which sooner or later you will have to do. I am quite amazed that Blakes are stopping doing their single pack polyurethane...

Indeed and of course there balcotan has the edge..... it is much easier to sand than epoxy.....and you can sand it any time after it has set, not like epoxy where you have to wait so long.....but if you leave it too long....it becomes a nightmare. Just been downstairs to look at fix I am doing on St...

Yup.....used it lots....should of asked yesterday! I really like it.....but it is a very differnt kind of glue....and you use it in a very different kind of way. I would always use Epoxy for any structural part, especially if contact area is small. You can fillet epoxy but you can't fillet balcotan....
