Re: Bough Beech 30th April
Hi Trevor I hope to be along as usual as this is very much a local fixture though I'll try not to arrive on a breakdown lorry. Sounds like I might be accompanied by a couple of the newly acquired Merlins from our recently enlarged fleet at Thames. I'll try to get a firm idea of numbers at our Easter...

Re: 2011 events
Thames Sailing Club are as ever extremely keen to run the CVRDA event (we love having you all here) as either a 1 day event or a 2 day event but we recognise that ours is not the easiest venue for a 2 day 'staying over' event. Even though the Saturday night party tends to be a pretty good reason to ...

Re: AGM Proposal (Part 2)
I love the fact that there are classic enthusiasts are prepared to lavish time and money on older boats rather than join in the arms race and I also recognise, as I'm constantly shown by at least one member of my own club who sails an absolute dog of a Merlin, that the ability to sail well and set u...

Re: AGM Proposal (Part 2)
To respond to the original proposal... I enjoy the CVRDA because it is so inclusive. My alter ego hillclimbs and sprints an old Sunbeam Tiger. Sometines I get put into the over 3 litre class which means I end up racing against Subaru's and other modern plastic monsters. I much prefer it when I compe...

Re: Thames event
Actually there were 2 Trowers competing in 2 seperate Fleetwinds. However the G in this case refers to Giles. My thanks to Jim for stepping in to the safety boat - we were beset by illness in the race box team over the weekend so we were dragging everyone in who wasn't actually sailing! I personally...

Re: Thames event
Sorry for the lack of updates - I've just got back from week in Sweden. The latest news on the Thames Vintage Regatta is that Guildford Marine have kindly agreed to offer prize sponsorship once again so there should be some nice goodies to win. It also looks like the Leader fleet have once again com...

Re: Thames event
Good timing Pat. I've literally just had the NOR signed off yesterday. The Thames Sailing Club Vintage Regatta is on the 17th and 18th July. There will be 3 races per day for the CVRDA fleet with single day prizes and well as overall prizes for those of you that can't stay for both days. 1st start o...

Re: Bough Beech - June 19th
In response to Chris' original question, I've now got confirmed crew so I'll be there. Hopefully I wont arrive on the back of a breakdown lorry this year! (I'm now the proud owner of a spare wheel for my boat trailer).
Cheers

Re: Classic Boat
Hi Guys Steffan Meyric Hughes, the news editor at CB seems to have decided to use me as his source for all things CVRDA. I have quite a good relationship with him. I helped him out with his round London challenge last year and he's sailed at our club a couple of times. Anyway he contacted me and ask...

Re: Dates update
The Thames Sailing Club CVRDA Regatta is planned for the 17th/18th July subject to confirmation with the River User's Group. If it moves at all from there which is highly unlikely as it is the same weekend as previously so effectively we have first dibs, then it will be the weekend before.

Re: Shearwater event
Thank you to all at Shearwater for a great day though I have to say the wind shifts in the last race were pure evil.
Next year we'll try to spend a bit more time upright!
Thanks again
