Good cotton sails free to a good home

I have just been given two sets, one white, the other tan. They are true period pieces. They look as if they have hardly been used although they have a few blemishes due to storage etc. I have no use for them. Bearing in mind that they are most likely pre war they are in excellent condition. Measure...

Well it stayed like that until I got home. Took a while to unstack...

Re: What next?

I have my next project. Jim's 11+ has arrived in my garage together with a set of plans courtesy of Rupert. Will start a thread as and when.

Here is an eligible cheapie for anyone so inclined, bit of a haul from Southport to Bosham:

Indeed I had thought to say that. They weren't too keen on the idea of the Swift so I suspect this offensive weapon might raise an eyebrow or two.

Re: What next?

A fine craft indeed however I reckon I am spoken for. More soon. Anyway, being uncharacteristically sensible today, it is too big and would need a mooring and longer garage, I fear it might also be too much for the Cobnor winch. Excellent though, looks like it would proudly scatter the ISC fleet of ...

Re: What next?

I'm near Chichester, I don't think that Express will tempt me all the way to Wigan. I like the idea of something called Man 'o' War but no, not for me, too 'sit on' rather than 'sit in'

What next?

There is a space in our garage. This is surely a symptom of lack of boats, a rare condition... So what next? Something small with some interest attached, either wood or maybe a grp 'lost cause'. Fairly trad, not too tippy, sit in not on, shorter than 14ft. That Silver Streak that sold recently looke...

Re: Swordfish sailors

There was one (ex RAF I think) thrashing around Chichester YC a couple of years ago, not checked to see if it is still there. Still sported a Reynolds mast

Free to whoever collects...Firefly centreboard

Anyone want a Firefly centreboard/plate? I have one in reasonable nick cluttering up the garage.

If anyone is seriously interested I'll take a pic. To be collected from near Chichester.

Re: Proctor Pictures

For reasons I cannot easily explain this scan is on my desktop. Of no use but takes one back to a different age.

Re: 1957 Gull with original Egyptian cotton sails & sailbags

Very nice, this or something like it, but in far worse shape is the sort of thing I am half looking for...and a bit of Proctor too!
