Re: Mast carrying on vans
The rigging people down our way (Holman?) have a purpose built mast trailer that seems to spend a lot of time sitting around...

Re: Trolley tyres
I'll try and find out the overall diameter of these, they look like a good solution.

Re: Graham Cockle auctions
I have just received this: Graham Cockle <graham@gc-c.co.uk> 12:41 (52 minutes ago) to Thanks to the generosity of John ( I am keeping his surname secret) We have now received the original scale drawing and instruction manual for the Kit-boat 11 Plus sailing dinghy. Although Dobson of Derby built th...

Re: Trolley tyres
Thanks for the ideas, I need to see what space I have between tyre and launching bars/guides or whatever they are called.

Trolley tyres
For those of us with heavier boats... My experience is that puncture proof trolley tyres/wheels seem to deform when the boat is too heavy. While at rest they get squashed flat at the bottom and the top becomes loose. Unless someone has found some better ones...? Inflatable trolley tyres seem to have...

Re: Mast carrying on vans
Thank you Michael, good to see all the info in one place. One thing that is not mentioned is tyre age. Trailer tyres can look fine when ancient, plenty of tread etc but sometimes you can see cracking in the tread grooves or walls which is presumably the beginning of the end. I think that somewhere o...

Re: Mast carrying on vans
Alan, the best training for anticipative (?) braking is an Austin Seven...and in those day a camper was just a camper. The extended trailer bar was the builders solution to trying to keep the towing car's brakes dry when launching. It would have been easier to shorten it, remove the bowsprit and re-...

Re: Mast carrying on vans
Not particularly relevant (but nor am I). A few years back when we used to sail that (a Winkle Brig) on Rudyard Lake (after which Mr and Mrs Kipling named their son). Overall length a little on the long side but the camper's brakes would get somewhat warm on the Macclesfield to Whaley Bridge road. h...

My copy of 'Sailing Boat Recognition' by Blandford 1970 also mentions GRP and builders Dobsons Yacht and Boat Builders, Derby.

Re: What is lot number 7?
I've got over the initial excitement of seeing the lots and...if someone in Chichester area wants a Pacer (I don't) I know of one looking for a 'good home' if it hasn't gone already. Grp.

Re: 11+ afloat
I've made contact with Eric Parkin's daughter. She will look to see what she has in the way of information on the boat in the New Year.
Of course I will share.

Re: 11+ afloat
To clarify, the search brings up this which has plenty of detail. Looks like over 500 boats, or at lest kits.

Re: Swallows and Amazons.
For the record, Eleven Plus designer Eric Parkin, plans drawn by RPK (?), kits supplied by Kit Boats of Harlow.
I don't know if any boats were suppled already built nor do I know if any GRP versions were made as suggested elsewhere by someone a while back.

Re: 11+ on Ebay
Batts came back to me very quickly- they loved the boat by way of the photo I sent them. Thanks for the suggestion- he’thinks he has plans! If you get a quote could you pm me? If I am feeling affluent (admittedly unlikely) I could go round there and see if he'll come up with a figure for making two...
