It is also the ancestor of the Scorpion which was reputedly the same line but with the very high freeboard cut down a modern centre plate and a much higher aspect rig.

No, that was his first 14 "Sorcerer" which was indeed cold moulded with ribs as well. "Witchway" was a Fairy Marine hull.

Lifejackets are like a few other things like lavatory paper, anchors, air bags in cars you don't need them until you need them badly!

Incidentally Mike "Development" would suggest it was a line that went somewhere, this did not for performance and in Int 14 terms aesthetics too!

It's an Wyche & Coppock Proctor Mk 5 Clinker built Int' 14 the second or maybe third attempt by Wyche & Coppock to build competitive clinker 14's.
The first in the late 40's begat the Rocket which in due course amalgamated with the Merlin Rocket class.
