Re: Mast foot questions
Nessa, She is an International 14, so the boom is low! You can find out how long the bit to replace the mast jack is simply by measuring from the sheer-line scratch on the mast (Proctors always scratched one on pre anodising.) as to what, a short length of mast section with some sort of alloy stainl...

Re: Dinghy Days
The Eileen Ramsey collection was "saved for the nation" by PPL Ltd who now charge a lot for prints though some of the pictures are available on line, to view. There is a book of Ramsey pictures produced by PPL which is well enough produced but inaccurately annotated and light on dinghies. ...

Re: Merlin Rocket 1200 Restoration
Chris, I think you mean centreboard cases? Yes they did, so did all of the trio, of Wyche & Coppock, Chippendale and Hoare. The steel screws were strong at getting that final half turn without breaking, one pair of boat builders did that but removed them when the glue had set and replaced then w...

Re: Deck colour analine dyes
On the whole I prefer the look of age which will mean variations across a big panel unless you have solid quality Cuban/Honduras Mahogany in which case you can usually sand it back to new. You have ply and probably not a quality veneer either so why not just give it a good deep gloss finish and show...
