Re: Proctor Centenary 2018

David,
I will get photos of Firebird and what history exists, so far I have found out who last privately owned the boat, he left boat to Sea cadets, hard life for a old boat, but it's still providing fun and games, sponge fights and first experience of a 2 hander.

Re: Bosham Proctor event.

Sorry to hear Bosham event may not be going ahead, you were quite enthusiastic about it.
I will take a set of close ups for you, publish them in my public folder on Photobucket, you can retrieve when required.

Re: Removing silicone sealant

pick it out with a needle until you can get screwdriver in, wd40 will soak into wood and cause you no end of issues when you come to put a finish on.

Re: 2018 events

David,
I will hopefully be able to get you a few pictures Saturday, (I am on duty so may not get time), boat is sailable but not mint, as you can imagine, dozens of Sea Scouts tend to play havoc with appearance, they have a couple of Bosuns too and about half a dozen Topaz race X.

Re: 2018 events

David,
Their is a Firebird at my club, belongs to one of the Sea scout units.
I know Ent is a Holt boat, just had a brain freeze, couldn't remember a Procter boat.

Re: 2018 events

I think CVRDA probably best group to run something like this, people wouldn't be embarrassed about turning up in a minisail or old Ent etc.

Re: Advice on owning an Uffa Fox International Fourteen, ple

You can understand why Dinghy sailing was a fairly wealthy persons sport when you see amount of work in pre-War boats.
What would on of these boats cost to have built today?

Looks incredible.
Never having seen a boat like this in the flesh, do all the nails you can see go through hull into the strips/laths of wood you can see in your earlier post ?

Re: An idea to encourage race participation in clubs.

sounds like a plan, have the results and presentation at the Nationals.
Perhaps include results of boats that beat the classic dinghy, give a comparison against more modern boats ?

Re: An idea to encourage race participation in clubs.

No, neither do I now, thinking, I meant completed hour long races, rather than races finished early, not sure it makes sense now, not even got the excuse of 'drink induced'.
I suppose we could do nationwide classic class racing, submit our results to a collator on here.
