Re: Proctor 2018 - the search is on

How do we know which boats are invited? If Aggie is going I will take the original mast to be rigged out in readiness. Ian, I am coming to Oxford on the 7th April for the D one event, but that might be too early for you?

Re: Proctor 2018 - the search is on

Sounds like a plan. I am happy for you to pick the boat up, with all it’s bits, and take it home to put together if that helps. I’m happy to pay for parts too. I am actually in Austria for the D1 Gold Cup when the Proctor event is on, but I’m keen that Aggie gets sailed - she has sat in my shed for ...

Re: Fairy Finn

Just an update: this went a while ago to a member from Hunts who has recently retired and who will get a lot of joy from both restoring and sailing it. Does anyone out there have any battens as I don’t have any for the soft sail for my own boat, and the Fairy didn’t have any at all. Where do they go?

Re: Proctor 2018 - the search is on

Agamemnon is available for use at Bosham. I have had a full size (ie very large) sail made but have yet to rig out the mast properly. If anyone wants to use him/her they need to let me know well in advance so I can make it all fit together and test it. The boat is beautiful and rather going to waste...

Mike I thought you were coming to Hunts on the Sunday, as usual?

Re: Finn buoyancy

The boat in the garden has four buoyancy bags laced in behind canvas flaps. I have taken them out because there was water behind them. Just this post has told me I don’t want to keep another boat where I need a bucket - all my buckets are busy in Aggie and the Wayfarer, the Taylor Finn doesn’t need ...

Re: Fairy Finn

I have had an awful lot of messages from people asking for this Finn. Unfortunately for the seller it’s worth a lot more than he sold it for, since the work needed doesn’t seem to be that major and it has the potential to be a lovely boat. My plan for the moment is to get it undercover so it can dry...

Fairy Finn

I have bought the Finn that was for sale on Facebook this week, and it will be arriving home tomorrow. I really don’t need another Finn, oranyboat to be honest, I just didn’t want to see this one broke up for spares. I’m happy to pass it on to someone who will get it back on the Water d hopefully ra...

Re: New sails...recommend a sailmaker?

Morgan Sails made the full size sail for Aggie. Fantastic quality. I will get the Genoa from them too.

Re: 2018 events

I'm afraid we need to move Hunts back a week to the 9th and 10th June. The original date clashed with my trip to Austria for the D One Gold Cup, pretty much my most important race of the year. Mike has agreed the move with the Merlins, I hope it is ok with you all? Interestingly for me we are going ...

Classic pys for club racing

At the next meeting of our Sailing Committee we will be discussing using cvrda pys (having done the relevant conversion sum) for eligible boats wishing to take part in club racing. The idea is to encourage older boats onto the race course by giving them a better chance against modern craft. Does any...
