Re: Baltic Wharf

I'm sorry we couldn't come; I have had a cold for a week now and am just fed up of it.

Never mind: Clywedog and Banbury were 'firsts' for us this year, I'm sure Baltic Wharf can wait until next year.

Re: Baltic Wharf

I look d up The Cottage to see if they allowed dogs, which they do, but also found they have changed hands to become part of a chain. Reviews weren't great and didn't tie in with the excellent reports heard previously. We could stay for a meal if it wasn't too long after racing.

Re: Proctor Centenary 2018

There was an Adventuress at Hunts for a while, then it got taken to Snettishm. Funny looking little tub. I know the owner of that helps. There is an Adventurer at Fishers Green.

Baltic Wharf

This will be another first time for me (following Clywedog and Banbury). Any useful knowledge anyone can pass on regarding dogs, launching, unloading etc? Even though I worked in and around Bristle for many years I never sailed here!

Hoping to bring the Finn. Will I need a winch?

Re: 2018 events

My trapezing days are over unless strictly necessary! Plus I will be looking after the Hunts open. It would be good to have something to motivate me to get the original mast rigged. I have already had the mainsail made. Lyndon better start eating some pies!

Re: 2018 events

Pretty sure I saw a Spectrum at Wimbleball many years ago. Ian, if you wanted to steer Agamemnon for this you'd be welcome!

Re: 2018 events

If I have to be 'lucky' to be to sail in the Bosham event then I'm guessing I don't need to worry about the clash with the. Hunts open.

Re: 2018 events

That should work well then; we will be happy for people to leave boats at Hunts ready to go on to Aldeburgh.

Re: 2018 events

Spoke to Mike on Saturday, we are keen to go for the 3rd of June. Probably the usual format of de May on Saturday, SigneTs on Sunday, CVRDA both days.

Does anyone know what Aldeburgh is planning?

Re: Finn nationals

If you want spares, is is the Dutch equivalent of eBay. Maybe not worth a special trip, but if you are going anyway....

Re: Finn nationals

I picked up my boat today and I'm really pleased, it looks very smart. It is number 469 built in 1979 by Peter Taylor, first owner John Doerr, measured by Charles Currey. The chap who sold it to me sailed it with a Needlespar mast and boom plus a Dacron sail. He changed the centreboard but that's pr...

Didn't the cvrda combine with a classic Nationals a few years back, at Roadford?

Re: 2018 events

I will talk to Mike, see if we can get back on track with the de May series again. I think he might be at Banbury. Also the SigneTs are keen to tie up with some cvrda meetings.
