Re: Germans building wooden 505's

Reckon they have more wooden 505s on one pontoon than we have in the whole country...

Very jealous. Would just love one.

Re: TV series coming soon

But sailing canoes are not, nor have ever been, aligned with dinghies - and after the discussions and debates at their Worlds this year, will never be so!
he he.....and thank goodness for that!

actually I don't think it is nearly that simple.....but given the choice: Vive la difference!

Re: Flying Fish????

Thought for a moment it might be an International 12.....but think the bow is wrong....oh and of course the int12 is a standing lug....which this obviously isn't....

so...

ur....well it doesn't seem likely to be that!

Re: Wooden Sailing Dinghy - Rennjolle 15

Nice boat....

I think it came up a while ago on ebay, maybe it didn't sail first time around.

Quite a bit of work I think, but certainly worth the effort.

Re: Classic Boat Insurance

As a rule, I just use 3rd party insurance cover from Bishop Skinner. Any breakages are almost certainly going to be more costly than the value of the boat and I wouldn't want anyone else doing the work on the boats anyway. The only thing that worries me is breaking a mast, especially a newish carbon...

Re: Mike Brigg at the IC worlds

Yup.....I was there..... Just doing my best to keep in front of Michael. Sorry Tony, that you didn't realise I was there also.... plenty of talk on the forum though... As others have mentioned, Michael's performance was much more impressive than mine! I simply could not of sailed Torment in those co...

Re: Another drum winch needed

I will check and see what I have go.

I know I have more drums than brackets. I may have one heavily butchered bracket too....

will try and dig out what I have.

Re: Centreboard winch for vintage Uffa Fox Fourteen

I certainly have one winch with drum.....and I suspect a couple of free drums.

But they are not all absolutely identical.....what dimensions is the hog that would take the saddle of the winch?

Mine are all down in Cornwall, although could get it up to Clywedog next week...

Re: low rider moth wanted

museum thread now irrelevant, although not really hard to find....considering it was posted yesterday and called: "Roll up, roll up, buy an entire museum collection" Both moths did not sell and are still available as lots 674 and 675: https://www.sellmylot.com/auctions/lot/3112/674/921108 ...

Re: Cadet/General Bouyancy question

I don't think celotex will work well..... although it is closed cell and hydrophobic.....I still suspect it will absorb some water and it is just pretty horrible stuff. Some of the other foams would be ok, like jablite or jabfloor which are expanded poly boards, or the blue/pink stuff which is used ...
