Re: Clywedog Nationals 2017
Hope to see you up here this coming w/e. I'll be on the safety crew as CSL co-ordinating everyone on the water. Weather is bound to be 'up and down' if this weeks MR Nats is anything to go by.

Re: Centreboard winch for vintage Uffa Fox Fourteen
I certainly have a large bronze drum which was part of a winch, not sure if there's the rest of it but I'm sure there is a spindle and some sort of bracket somewhere. I'll search them out.

Unfortunately circumstances mean that it's highly unlikely that I will be at Clywedog this year.

Re: Arthur Beale chandlery
ordered some varnish off them the other day, together with a load of sundries. The epiphanes varnish was nearly £10 cheaper per 500ml than some other online shops.
Even with a delivery charge of £14 it was still very reasonable.

Re: A big boy did it and ran away!
I'll probably be one of your safety boats for the worlds, so please try and keep it upright. Having said that we practised a righting technique for those having 'problems' aka inversions at the Masters involving me sitting on the dagger board, and then heaving on the seat to bring the whole t...

Re: Singlehander?
Well. it's with a heavy heart but I'm likely to want to sell my Finn before too long. I've really enjoyed having it but I really have to get rid of some boats and now I have the Hirondelle I'm tending to use her more than the Finn. The MR I really want to keep, and the N18 is still a project which m...

Re: Merlin design 20WCa
1855 is listed in the Merlin Rocket yearbook as 20aWC which is code for Mike Nokes designed StarRocket built as you say by Wyche and Coppock. A sister ship called Cotopaxi won the Nationals in1965 in the hands of Alan Warren and Barry Dunning so quite fast in it's day, although most boats this pair...

I'm thinking it may not be complete, but the drum and shaft are there.jules22 wrote:I would quite like your one Tony for a fiver, if you were serious ................ as I one day hope to build a cruising dinghy with a heavy center plate and it would be ideal for this.

Re: Letters to Santa...
as for Dear Santa, I would like:
a large heated workshop, where I could get both Sibrwd and Julia Dream into the warm and dry.
a carbon fibre mast for Sibrwd so I can finish her as intended.
a couple of litres of epiphanes varnish for Julia Dream
the wherewithal to actualy undertake these jobs
