Re: Whitefriars Winter Classic and Lost Class Meeting.

If it is the weekend 7/8 Feb then I should be doing the Tiger Trophy in the C boat. If anyone wants to borrow ye olde phantome they will be welcome if they don't mind the foredeck looking a bit ropey - I have too many boats to varnish and not enough garages to store them in.

Re: Pisces Singlehander

There was a man of War on ebay a while back - it took me ages to work out what it was (hours of googling). I didn't bid, worse luck. It looked like a nice boat and in good nick too.

(I have the ebay equivalent of cabin fever in that I have not bought a new boat lately  )

British Moth

I think I'm going to look for one of these to replace my phantom. I will have to try and sell the phantom first, but if in the meantime anyone comes across a Moth for sale could they let me know. I'm not too worried about condition, but I would like it to have most of the vital parts!

Thanks.

Happy birthday to you too Pat!

So does this mean that the Andreionopolos in the book is my Agamemnon? if so, the cheroot burn mark is still there - and clearly I should preserve it!

Shakewell Afloat

Thanks to all those who mentioned this lovely book. My clever and perceptive other half read these threads and has bought it for my birthday, which is today! It is a fabulous book - I love the illustrations and have already spotted various mentions of Jonny Woodbine - the owner of the monster lurkin...

Re: battle of the classes 2009

I would happily come and crew, but I am quite a big person - I have no idea what the size requirements are for a Pegasus, nor have I ever sailed one!

Re: RYA Volvo Dinghy Show

I would happily take Agamemnon down there for the price of some free tickets, because it would be worth it just for the chance to get some advice, comment etc. But I can't guarantee she would be finished by then. (unless we get a sudden climate change or I find a centrally heated shed (mind you, the...

Wow!

Look at this for a gorgeous boat: http://www.cam.net.uk/home/sail/VolunteerCharlesChris_medm.jpg I stumbled across it when looking at clubs around the Cambridge area (in case we ever actually get to move....) Apparently it is a Half Rater, more details can be found here: http://www.cam.net.uk/home/s...

I could come with ye olde phantome if you let me and it doesn't clash with anything for the other boat....

Re: A quick quiz

I grew up in Berlin in the 60s and as a family we would go to the lakes there for picnics - I think this may well be where I first saw boats sailing! I plan to go to Berlin soon as a trip down memory lane and will definitely get to this museum. If anyone is ever in the area, The Watchet Boat museum,...

Re: 2009 calendar

It would be good too, to have a date to aim to have our boat ready for. I notice a bit of a geographical gap around my area. it may be too late now, but I could ask for an event at Priory SC in Bedford, especially if the Herons could take part.

Re: Agamemnon - i14 869

Her own spinnaker is enormous - so big I doubt we will be able to see past it! Since I have a novice crew who has only just started sailing I am hoping to get some smaller sails for us to use according to the weather and our level of ability. A good tip though - thanks for that. Do we think the boar...
