Re: Simoune 485 in SWEDEN help please......

I suggest that you try the French site http://445et485.free.fr/

This is a site for enthusiasts of both the 445 & 485 dinghies. It has a forum, a gallery, tuning guides, and an archive which includes diagrams and historical documents.

Re: WANTED : Boat to hire for Poirot!

An International 12 would be perfect, though a little shorter than really required. Checkout http://www.12footdinghy.org I'm sure someone would lend you one. Nick There is a very original International 12 (circa 1936) at West Kirby Sailing Club. Its not been sailed for a few years but I believe tha...

Re: Something out of the ordinary

The French naval architect Francois Vivier's 'Seil' design is very similar and is obviously based upon Scandinavian Jolle. They have become extremely popular in France.

The boat is as similar as it possibly can be to Cockshot's 1913 design - but the owner tells me that he couldn't...

Sven Thorell

The name 'Sven Thorell' recently cropping up in another thread has made me wonder whether any CVRDAers or their friends understand Swedish? I have a document, written in Swedish by Sven Thorell, detailing his preparations for, and reflections upon, the 1928 Olympics where he won a gold medal sailing...

Re: Scoring methods for 'traveller type' series

Many thanks for your comments and suggestions - we will be discussing this over the weekend! Rupert, So far we have not made any real progress in the UK although interest is growing. I know of a couple of 12s sailing in Ireland, and there is one boat being restored in Cheshire. Apart from that there...
