Hi Silverwood
I had a friend who had one of these in the mid 70's. It seemed as fast as an ent but had really basic rigging. The main thing I remember was the very thin shrouds.... It was stable and well mannered, but had no toe straps. With a bit of tweaking it could have gone much better.

Finn Gooseneck fitting for Needlespar
Does anyone have a spare Finn gooseneck fitting for a Needlespar? I've had to bodge one up out of aluminium sheet and though good for light winds really isn't strong enough.
Thanks
Thanks

Finn Video
Hi all,
Just been to the German classic finn web site, http://www.classic-finn.de/, they have a really nice 20 mins film of rough weather sailing from 1977. Just the right length for a cup of coffee, 4 biscuits and a few thoughts about adding more flotation to my boat.

Re: PETRE MILNES SKIPPER 14
A friend of mine had a 14ft version with a modern bermudan rig. It had a highfield lever and a powerful kicker and effective toe straps. Rig looked about Enterprise size. Boat really flew. So re-rig it! The shrouds were amazingly thin, almost like piano wire. I always thought they were going to brea...

Finn Rudder information
This is just for general information. Sometime last year I posted a request for help making a rudder, several people offered help including drawing around their own rudders, this was great. Recently I came across a set of co-ordinates for the rudder's plan view, on Lamboley's website, see link below...

Re: Varnishing a mast
I assume that the mast has not been stripped so you will have to use varnish. Oil is great, I used linseed for years on a mirror mast and it worked fine, but probably no good here. One thing to consider is that if no one is responsible for the boat then you may find yourself asked to do the job agai...

Re: Finn Mainsail
My mast has the same measurement from boom pin to bottom of sail track, so it's the sail. I will go and experiment.

Re: Finn sailing
There is also one other reason for sailing in a Finn......It's the only boat I've ever owned that gives me real constant pleasure just looking at its lines. Even with the 5oh and IC it's still the best looking dinghy around.

Thanks Peter,
Really good info and measurement. I'll go out and measure it.

Finn Mainsail
Hi, I've just run an old North sail up my battered 3B mast only to find that the cunningham pulley contacts the end of the sail track before the headboard is fully up. It makes getting the sail right up really difficult. On my last Finn this didn't happen and it had an identical mast. Is the mainsai...

That's really great, thanks.

Anyone remember this dinghy?
Does anyone remember an 11ft dinghy called the 11+, it had rather nice rolled sidedecks I recall, I think it was of glued clinkerply construction?

Finn
Due to a sudden need for some ready cash I need to sell the Finn that I was restoring, it's a white Pearson, with a Needlespar 3B and a North sail. The mast has been repaired as the joint split so it's been cleaned up and reglued with the addition of some asethetically pleasing and efficient SS jubi...

Re: new deck for an Albacore - a string of questions...
Thinking about ratchet straps, these are only really a problem if the boat is not supported well. On my first Finn some nice person had mad a custom glass fibre craddle for it about 8" wide lined with carpet. I'm going to make one for my other Finn, but if you really want to keep your boat well...
