A good tip for cutting perspex is to stick masking tape on both sides of the sheet covering the cut line. Also MARK THE TAPE not the plastic with the cut line. This saves shattering and also it's easier to see the cut line. Also use a band saw with a hacksaw type of blade ie fine.
