Wooden Fireball for spares

We have a 10,000 registration fireball with much of its foredeck missing that needs to be disposed of eventually. Not economically worth repairing very sadly, as the tiger-stripe ply alone would be over £100 at todays prices. Could be taken as a going concern or would break for parts. Trolley, cover...

Osprey Bits - centreboard & rudder

I have two Osprey centreboards and a rudder assembly surplus to requirements. One board and rudder/tiller etc off an old vintage boat, hence just solid mahogany and an IYE stock/tiller. Later c/board is epoxy sheathed & fairly modern looking. Not sure how best to sell them. Offers invited/carria...

Re: Looks Like a British Moth?

The "Eric Willis" designed moth. Bloody awful things.
Built by 'Dolphin Plastics' of Basingstoke, whoever they were?

Re: is this a moth

She's an all wooden BM but cant see a name or number. Looks amateur finished by the standard of the woodwork but why is it showing as a grp hull as the floor looks varnished to me, complete with wooden stringers, just like the rest of it. Needs baling out or it may not always have a floor at all! If...

Re: Looks Like a British Moth?

Looks to me like the British Moths sold/marketed maybe late 60s as a Solent Super-moth. I think I have the sale brochure somewhere. Strange deck layout but several were built but not sure who moulded them. Sail number would be around the 500+ number if traceable. Looks like it has been messed about ...

Re: 1973 Merlin Rocket

Two-hole bow fitting found.
It measures 34mm between the holes if that is correct for you?
Let me know if you are stuck for one as I cant see it in the catalogue any more.

Re: Albacore looking for a good home

I've examined this one in more detail and found only bad news. At a glance it didn't look bad but sadly its too far gone. One for the bonfire. Sorry.

Re: 1973 Merlin Rocket

The most common bow fitting was (and still is) the one with 3 holes and the swivel (as still made by Allen), but a 2-hole tack fitting, made of pressed plate with a swivel was also common in that era. I'll see if Ive still got one. It should be bolted through, and the nuts/backing washers recessed i...

Re: Carbon mast, booms etc

I'm still interested for a pipeline Merlin project. Might have to mess about a bit but worth doing. My number still as above and would think to collect it on route to Devon in a couple of weeks if that suits you?

Osprey sails

If anyone is interested, I have some old Osprey sails. I say old, the jib is shot, but the Ratsey and Lapthorn mainsail is so white it looks hardly used, having sat in the bag for 30 years. Any takers, or it goes on E-bay.

Oldest known Osprey

Another project! We have been 'donated' the oldest known Osprey, No 11. Would there be any interest is saving this old lady? It is a mess, especially the rear section, requiring new rear floors, rear deck and rear bulkhead. It comes on a road trailer (road-worthy) and has mainsail (new-ish) and jib,...
