Not Falmouth, Rupert...go north.
The last and largest wooden warship was built near here. it displace twice as much as HMS Victory and was fitted with a steam engine as well as sails. But it never saw service.

Your number five wasnt a Lightning by any chance?

Gavin. further west than the Tamar.

does anyone have a few scraps of Agba Veneer surplus to requirements? Another volunteer at the West Wales Maritime Museum is restoring the museum's Fairey Swordfish. and needs to do a couple of patches.

Rickmansworth SC have published the date of their vintage 14 event. I had been fretting it would coincide with Hunts but fortunately it is the weekend before so doubly worth the trip from deepest west wales to do both of these events. i highly recommend the 14 event at Ricky by the way. chris and Lo...

ok, two photos the B&W photo is a boat called Undine and was modified with a motor. the colour shot is Tern more original perhaps but well hogged now. length is 18 '6" and if these two are 'one design' the definition of one design is rather vague. built in Aberystwyth 1930s possibly by a sm...

i see Gordon Fowler is mentioned in the article from 30 years ago in Classic Boat mag, by John Leather.
