Re: weight limit on a trapeze wire!!!
I know I should be at the front end but it looks like hard work :D I have tried many times to get Kirstie to helm but she enjoys trapezing too much. As long as we enjoy sailing together and don't expect to win anything then it doesn't really matter - the great thing with an Osprey is how much weight...

What sort of sections are the booms? I really need to upgrade the round tube on the Miracle as the kicker just bends it.....

Re: moth cover
Have been very impressed with the price and quality of Rob Storrars covers recently - http://www.storrarmarine.co.uk
In fact whilst I have been very happy with Sail Register and Rain & Sun I think I will just be going straight to Rob in the future....

Re: Wood filler
Could be epoxy fillets - West 407 filler along with other makes is a reddish brown colour and could be used to make a fillet. It also softens with heat.

Re: Seagull outboard 'new' and unused and mirror kit
I may well be interested in the mirror kit if the price is right - I would like the kids to get a chance to build their own boat as I did when I was a child.... of course it would mean another expansion to the winter storage problem!

Re: Is it a Ferarri? Oh no....it's a Flying Dutchman
Thank goodness it's a long way away from me otherwise I would be very tempted.... I have from a small boy always wanted to sail an FD but to be realistic this is going to cost rather more than the petrol to wales!

Re: Spinny repairs and silicone spray
I have heard of tape being stuck to silicone treated spinnakers by spreading a thin film of clear builders silicone on the sail and then sticking the tape to that whilst it is still tacky - but I haven't tried it myself......
Re: Speed
At Kielder we have the "Greased Cougar Trophy" which runs all year. Our main sailing area has a circle of twelve buoys 900m apart with a central mooring for the committee boat when we are club racing. This not only gives us a simple way of having a pretty true windward mark every race, it ...

Re: I like the look of this.... ?
Your doing better than me - I used to manage it and still didn't recognise it! Mind you that was when it was the boating station on the other side of the bridge. Work was just about to start on digging out the marina when I moved on.

I remember going on a school outing to the dinghy exhibition at Pickets Lock the year the plastic topper was launched. The week before it had been featured on Tomorrows World. If only I could remember how old I was then....

Re: help with varnish
The basic rule is you can single pack over two pack but not the other way round. As with any rule there are a few exceptions but generally with fresh varnish stick to this.....
