Merlin Rocket 1028

Start worrying people I have been given the vast majority of Merlin Rocket 1028 .Now its not often I admit to not knowing stuff but I have no idea about Merlins. Apart from the RYA is there a source where I could find out who built it and confirm my assumption that it is a Proctor 1X ? In the past t...

Re: Roll up, roll up, buy an entire museum collection

Has the RYA shown any interest in this? They do, after all, represent our sport. Surely this is worth their effort.

Re: Meeting at Hykeham (Again)

Re: Meeting at Hykeham (Again)

Morning Ian,
Dogs are welcome providing they are more or less under control ( even mine goes to the club) There are lots of recognised walks round the pit which can be enjoyed by dogs and non sailors. No problem with motorhome

Re: Meeting at Hykeham (Again)

Its about time I got on and did some organising. Hykeham sail on a large disused gravel pit (100+ acres) just south of Lincoln. Road access is easy via the A1 and A46. Onsite camping is available and the water is a nice shade of blue and weed free. Can I get a rough idea of who would like to come an...

Re: Enterprise lack of pointing

The most common reasons for not pointing are 1 Too muck kicker 2 jib fairleads too far forward in lightish winds Rule of thumb. Step the mast, the mast step should be as far forward as the rules allow measuring parallel to the base line. Hoist the jib and tension ( about 350 400 POUNDS) Hoist tape m...
