Re: Merlin design 20WCa

1855 is listed in the Merlin Rocket yearbook as 20aWC which is code for Mike Nokes designed StarRocket built as you say by Wyche and Coppock. A sister ship called Cotopaxi won the Nationals in1965 in the hands of Alan Warren and Barry Dunning so quite fast in it's day, although most boats this pairi...

Re: Merlin 3270

Hi,
According to the yearbook 3270 is an NSM2 built by Guy Winder in 1982. She is called "Dragon Lady".
I think that you only place that you can see the list is in the Merlin Rocket Year Book.

Regards

Well Sam I heard a rumour that you were putting an RS400 assymetric kite on the Albacore so I thought I'd better give it a go! Just need a miniature crew to do the hoists and drops and put the pole on now?

Re: Fireball spinnakers and a jib - anyone have any interest

Hi,
If Godfrey doesn't want both spinnakers then I would quite like the other one.
Thanks

Re: Last event of the year

Yes, as Lyndon says we were somewhat let down by the weather gods with the lack of breeze although at least it wasn't as cold as the last few times we have been to Bristol. Sorry that I didn't get to thank anyone from Baltic Wharf SC in person for hosting us again and doing such a great job managing...

Re: Meeting at Hykeham (Again)

Hi Sam, It would be great to sail at Hykeham again after all these years, I think the last time must have been team racing in Ents at Lindum SC sometime in the mid 90s. I don't know if the dates have been confirmed yet, but from a purely selfish point of view the last weekend in June (24th/25th) wou...

Re: Banbury 8th October

Another great weekend at Banbury Sailing Club so a big thank you to Tim, Pat and the team whose hard work made the event a resounding success. It was really nice to see such a wide variety of boats that included some that were making a first appearance at a CVRDA event such as Peter's Swift catamara...

Re: New Sail

Dolphin sails made a lot of Cat sails for the Minnis Bay Condor fleet when I was a member there. They always looked pretty decent and reasonably priced as far as I remember, but that was a while ago. If they are still going it may be worth enquiring anyway? Really impressed with the fantastic job yo...

Re: Banbury 8th October

Hi Tim and Pat, We are still planning to come and Lyndon should also be there with his two Moths. As we have done for the previous events at Banbury we would like to arrive on Friday evening if that's ok and hope to get there around nine in the evening. We will be in the motor home with Baxter and b...

Re: Down to one boat... each... plus a spare

Yes a Javelin would be an interesting choice and they are nice looking boats. There is a small fleet of them at Southwold Sailing Club and they were always fairly popular in Norfolk as I recall. They are big powerful boats though and Whitefriars might be a bit too restricted? A true classic that was...

Re: National Rally - everything you need to know

Sorry for the delay in posting this, but we were off-line while exploring Suffolk on the way to Aldeburgh. Thanks again to everyone at Hunts SC who helped make this year's National Rally an outstanding success. Great sailing, great company and great fun so well done to Nessa and Nikki for all the ha...

Re: Aldeburgh YC 3rd and 4th September 2016

A big thank you to all those at AYC who helped make the weekend truly memorable in spite of, or perhaps because of, the weather! A special thank you to John Adcroft whose hard work both before and during the event was clearly evident and his help and guidance when we first arrived was greatly apprec...

Re: Aldeburgh YC 3rd and 4th September 2016

Hello, Wendy and I are also planning to continue Eastwards from Hunts and do a bit of touring on the way across to Aldeburgh. We will be in a motor home towing my classic International Moth and will probably drop the boat off on Thursday if that's ok with the club? We have campsites booked for durin...

Re: Help WITH MY pegasus

Hi Neil, What number is your Pegasus, is it wood or GRP and where do you plan to sail it? I used to sail a fibreglass peggie number 221 in Malta many years ago, but I am always pleased to hear of one that is still going strong and being cared for. Who did you order your cover from in the end, some m...

Re: 1973 Merlin Rocket

Hello and welcome to the CVRDA forum, it's always nice when another classic wooden Merlin appears, particularly when it's an example of design that was pretty rare to start with. The Rapidity design by Tony Watts was his final design and I think that there were only ever three of them built by John ...
