We have a committee meeting at Kielder on the 20th of this month where we will be sorting the fixtures... I will let you know what the outcome is asap after then.

Re: Firefly 457
Not too far from me so if anyone wants me to have a look at it or to collect and hold it until they can get up north then let me know. I am on a strict no more boats until I have finished some orders so whilst slightly interested myself would not be in a position to take this on as well.....

Re: Fixtures 2012
Yes Pat - we are a very friendly club (some repeat visitors travel from Cornwall for our open meetings!) and there is plenty of free camping at the club, with the lakeside car park next door being taken over for camper vans at our opens. It sound like the May open would be the one to go for so I wil...

Re: Topper sail
I think I have a very old one that would need some repairs (I was given it a a source for patches but thought it was a bit worn for that...) - free to you if you can't find anything better. I will have a look for it tomorrow.

Re: Fixtures 2012
We had a committee meeting on Sunday at Kielder and in principle people were very keen - just need to sort some dates..... One of the favourites was the August bank holiday but that would clash with the CVRDA Nationals so probably best avoided... Do you think having a classic and vintage start on wi...

1137 would be 1976. There is a useful list on the Osprey website....

Re: Fixtures 2012
Would there be any interest in a northern meeting at Kielder? Huge inland water, free camping, friendly club. Either as a fleet in our May or Sept opens or if demand is there as a meeting in its own right?

Re: Classic, wooden Finn
John - I have discovered that what I thought was just a mast is actually a complete boat but the hull is stored elsewhere. It is number 17 and the owner still has the original receipt from new! It is not for sale but they are looking for an original rudder as following damage it is using a Devotti o...

Re: Classic, wooden Finn
I must admit I was tempted John - But the Mirror kit you sold me must take priority or the daughter will disown me..... Hope you enjoy her. I do know where there is another wooden Finn mast in storage if you need one. It isn't for sale at the moment but I might be able to persuade the owner for a go...

Re: making a cradle
In which case what Chris said..... I tend to lay whatever I am using as a cushion (Astroturf preferably, or sleeping mat foam) on the hull, cover with polythene or indeed clingfilm and lay up on top of that so I know it all fits. A couple of layers of CSM, then stiffening and mounting points with mo...

Alec volunteers to make an I love sailing video and tidy up the boat park... he manages to combine the two. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRWvn_wj1ZU

But not Fireball sails.... Was it the Bullet that was the youth fireball? Interesting that they should be measured by the fireball measurer.

Re: weight limit on a trapeze wire!!!
I have never bothered with the rubber bungs and have never lost a trap wire. The elastic at the bottom means they are never without tension and you do have to turn them 90 degrees to get them out.
