Ayye... I saw it once. Great fun. Should be done at a cvrda meeting except that no plastic should be used..

Nice idea. Only scraps of wood found on the shoreline.

I think I may have just found a build project to relieve the boredom of Christmas TV now then :)
We regularly walk around the millpond and watch the racing on the seaward side, and the radio controlled on the pond.......this idea sounds a lot of fun.....definitely have to go and have a look at the very least :)

Isn't that the starting point for building a new Merlin Rocket?

Only under VSCC rules...

VSCC?

I have a few bits I replaced on Keto so if you want to build a new Holt Premier I can let you have it cheap. Oh no I forgot it doesnt even have to be the same shape as designed.

I get very conflicted about this topic, since here I am rebuilding my Skol with a brand new below waterline to a shape it's never been before.

Jim I don't think you are setting out to re build your boat with the intent to win trophies, albeit you will be entering her in classic events so maybe she should be re-measured at the next cvrda event you attend.

By the way who is the cvrda measuruer?

But its a Moth... the whole point of which is that you can do what you like within the rule book..

Roger - VSCC is the Veteran Sports Car Club, who some would say is notorious for providing an certificate of orriginality for the most horrendous rebuilds from little more than an exle and cylinder block - others would point out the approach means there are lots of veteran parts running around that provide the authentic experience, looks sound and smell of the orriginal car that would be scrapped, otherwise...

Someone gives me a pint and a tape measure, I'll happily measure stuff - might not be the right stuff, of course, but by then I'll have drunk the pint.

Suppose I'd better scare up a Moth measurer when I've finished. Should give them a laugh...

We need to work out an official supplier of CVRDA approved eBay elastic tape measures...

It would be fun to get some made up as event prizes or something were it not for the sure and certain knowledge that one would be certain to get in the hands of someone who'd use it for measuring something...

On that subject how many examples can we think of where a foot isn't a foot? As a couple of starters how about Cherub 12foot length and N12 90sq foot sails...
