Merry Christmas from a grumpy!!

Post by Garry R »

'Tis Christmas time - a time I hate,
If you're lucky minus eight
White powder snow on Christmas cards
Icicles falling down in shards
Upon your head - it's really tough
H&S have had enough
Very soon they'll make a rule
To wear hard hats to make us fools
Slush underfoot, you slip and slide
And know you'd rather be inside.
The damn-ned snow will never shift
I really wish you'd get MY drift!
But look at news in trepidation
You cannot e'en escape the nation
Thirty tons of bloody snow
Beneath each jumbo lie below
Lines on rail are falling down
No way to get away from town
The problems growing ever larger
No start for car without a charger
Traffic slows down to a crawl
You'll never get away at all
The Christmas meal makes all so tense
With booze by gallons to dispense
The turkey seems to have the luck
To be well warmed but rather stuffed.

To be honest Scooge was right
Christmas time is pretty s***e.

Merry Christmas everyone

Garry

Was supposed to be off to Mum's yesterday but Trish's heating broke down so spent all day waiting for the engineer to no avail. Have been told that we are being prioritised today. So - yes - too much time but at -12 every night there ain't a lot to do especially as my house sale fell through and the furniture/goods/chattels are in Trish's garage. House deal fell through literally at the last minute. Mustn't grumble ...... hence the poem!!

Bad luck Garry with the house sale - I hope you were able to get & keep the deposit if it was that late in the process!
It's so icy here that Sandy's van was sliding (NOT rolling) down the lane when he'd parked it whilst delivering a card to neighbours!
Happy Christmas everyone and a merry new year too.

I'll resist the temptation to plagiarize "'twas on the Monday morning..."
