Any ideas?

Post by Michael4 »

Any ideas as to what this may be?

Not sure about the contrasting planks but otherwise appears to be reasonably well made...from the photos!

The description says modified Redwing. seems feasible.

Yes I saw that and it seems pretty close though from what I remember of Redwings (which isn't a lot) the transom seems much deeper.

I'll ask to seller for more info.

Having recently seen quite a lot of Redwing transoms at Tenby, it is most definitely a lot deeper at the stern than a redwing, and the bow is less plumb. Also of course the Redwing adopted trapeze many years ago - its not impossible this one predates that but... hmmm. And the planks look very like relatively recent repair work to me. Nevertheless an interesting boat for someone - but don't expect to do any class fleet racing!

Didn't get any definitive answers from the seller but have decided that she is too heavy for solo dinghy park hauling. We may never know...
