Can anyone suggest a good website which shows (in diagrams/photos rather than chat) the simple arrangement of a lifting rudder on an old boat. I have a mahogany blade and ply stock but the holes for the bushing are shot. Any suggestions? I've googled and not really come up with anything useful. Also any suggestions how the shaped lead ballast is attached to an old Merlin centreboard without it falling off when it gets a bump - talking old as in 1947.

Hi Garry,
probably best to fill the holes with an epoxy mix and re-drill, do you have some pictures?
