We have a book about nautical inventions - it features the boat-cloak and yes indeed, kettles! (with gimbals..)

In the rather PRAVDA world I agree pots and kettles, but the point is that no matter what point if it adds to the sum total of human knowledge no matter how obscure - good; if it's just blurb - bad! That's what my tutor told me anyway, "let your brain wander my man you'll be surprised what comes out"!

When I was researching for doing the PA at Thames, I found that way back then the ladies could sail, but only if wearing a full face vail!!
