Yeah! I've got a pass! :D

I'll be at Bosham on the Saturday and, if I do lots of DIY this week, then I might get a 2 day pass.

The entry form is asking for PY's and handicaps. Does anyone know if they accept CVRDA ones? Also my Albacore is 1962 built, sailing dacron and with ally spars. Am I 'old' or 'classic'?

Cheers

A good write up from Dougal and nice pic of Michael Brigg and Torment http://www.yachtsandyachting.com/news/1 ... at-Revival. And Jollyboat 83 won the concourse!

Unfortunately mine was the boat that sprung a leak!

Combination of rig tension and force 5 increasing towards 6 was too much for old Twinkle. The forces on the mast shoved the mast step through the hog!

Here's a video that shows the 'leak' https://youtu.be/wdmL96vDjYQ[/youtube]

We had fun deciding how far we could get before sinking - First we aimed for Itchenor, then Cobnor and then we decided we could make Bosham. We were going fast enough on the run for the water to empty out of the transom flaps as fast as it was coming in at the mast.

There you go Ben, the trick is to just extract the gobbledegook bit of the youtube share link and stick it between [] tags.

Once did something similar on my poor Vintage Cherub. We launched off a big wave and came down on the next one from some feet up. Titanic crash, but all seemed well until:

Tim: 'Jim, your floor's going up and down.'
Jim: 'It can't Tim, there's two huge stringers each side'
Tim: 'Jim, your floor's going up and down'.

both port side stringers had snapped, and although the hog had survived it had gone clear through a good 6mm of ply each side of the mast step, and there was a centreline splt for 4 feet forward of the mast and chine split as well.

Sunday morning was very pleasant... out on the green Michael Brigg searches for an errant shackle pin in the shade of Torment.
