At the CVRDA event at Shearwater at the end of September I am challenging all those with cotton sails to use them on the saturday and sail for The CVRDA Cotton Sail Challenge Trophy (which I am about to commission from a local craftsman) there will also be a bottle of something vintage to go with it.

Cotton sails became obsolete around 1959/60 but if the mice haven't eaten them can still be quite serviceable. So Please, if your boat still has some somewhere in the attic bring them with you to Shearwater.

With the cvrda handicap you will get extra PY points anyway which makes it well worthwhile as well, though it is not compulsory to use them on the Sunday. (which is also part of the Merlin Vintage series)
