am on the case Ed...
Fingers crossed, Smokey Bear gets flipped over today, the hull is 3/4s longboarded already, then the primer can be sprayed on and we're ready for the top coat.

Re: Bristol Avon next
Sandy won't be doing Bristol Avon - he's crewing a Wayfarer at West Oxford that weekend. I may be around to crew, take pictures etc.
I did spend time yesterday stripping off mast step fittings and investigating the crack in the timber where the step goes on Goldie. It's only a filler block thankfully so screw together and revarnish. This project has only been in progress since 2006 so I've set a target of using it for the Rutland training on Royal Wedding weekend. Sandy's not sure we'll do it, but at his rate the boat will be cvrda eligible before it gets on the water again

Re: Bristol Avon next
I am not going to commit myself to anything until I have had a sail (probably this coming weekend) but as things stand the Wayfarers look appealing for the Saturday)( (six out for club racing last Sunday) and the Model Railway exhibition at Melksham on the Sunday.

Hi all.
Hope you all wintered well.
I have the galley cttee on my back trying to find out how much scoff to lay on for the event this coming Sunday.
Can I ask folk to let us know via this thread whether they are turning out for it.
Cheers all.

I'll be there with the Minisail, to be used as a mark of the course unless we get a bit of a gale! Do I remember an excellent fried egg roll from last time, or have I confused my clubs?

Re: Bristol Avon next
Many thanks to Mervin, Louise, Penny and all the others who helped run a lovely day at BASC today. Given the lack of wind, it is no surprise that Roger Witts wiped the floor with us in his very pretty British Moth, but it was fun trying to keep up in the Minisail, at least briefly! I'd like to try again in a breeze on open water...

Re: Bristol Avon next
Yes, a big thank you to all at Saltford, It's always fun sailing there and with a warm welcome. It had something of the seaside atmoshere with the sun blazing, picnicers along the grassy bank and lots of people swimming ( not capsized sailors either) . I manage to plant Iska in the mud and reas a couple of times but she was weighed down with quite a bit of water which didn't help...well that's my excuse anyway.
Re: Bristol Avon next
A few pics from yesterday, not much action , lots of artistic reflections though.
